Assignment #4

The setting might mean that the author wanted to capture the readers attention. she is in the house all by her own and these guys drive up to her house and a guy she saw at the restuarant came out of the car and started adressing her by name and she didn't even know him. he tells her all these things about love and how he wants her. I think the author is trying to get the readers attention by Connie being alone in the house and the guy is trying to persuade her to come with him.

Connie 's character changes throughtout the story. When her friends dad takes her and her friend to the shopping plaza, she says they sneak out and go to a drive-in restaurant where older kids hang out. and while she was at the restaunrant this guy sees her and just leaves with him. while she out with this random guy, she sees Arnold Friend watching her and he says 'Gonna get ya, baby'. its like she's the one drawing attetion to herself so, Yeah I think she's the one who is asking for trouble. Connie's behavior is really weird when the guy tells her about all the stuff he will do to her, its really creepy.
The author's intention is to warn people for what they wish for they might exactly get it.
This story appeals to people because you get drawn to the part about Arnold Friend come to her house and she's all alone. You want to know what happens to her or what will she do to protect herself from this creepy guy, or what he will do to her. Its suspense and you want to know what happens in the end so you keep reading until the end.
i really don't know. Maybe he raped her. since sh didn't want her family with her so she got her wish.

Connie runs inside the house picks up the phone and she hears the dial tone, then there was a scream and the creepy guy told her to put the phone back, she did and then she felt numb all over and she was doing exactly what he told her and she followed him.
